
The 1st XI welcomed Flitwick to Balls Park looking to kickstart their season after three consecutive defeats, and did so in style with an emphatic 50-run victory. Asked to bat first, Hertford laid the perfect platform as Ray (110) and Lawrance (100) shared a superb partnership to take the score to 211-1. A late flourish from Carlson and Underdown then propelled the hosts beyond 300, eventually closing on an imposing 324-7. Flitwick fought hard in reply, with Moughal compiling a valiant century, but Hertford held their nerve with the ball. Cavener was the standout performer, claiming an excellent 5-56 as the hosts secured a much-needed win.
The 2nd XI were the only side to suffer defeat, going down in a closely contested match against the same opposition away from home. Batting first, Hertford were restricted to 167, with Mercer (68) and Ruskin (45) providing the bulk of the runs. Defending a modest total left little room for error, but Hertford's bowlers battled hard throughout. Day returned figures of 3-28, while Abell claimed 2-14, yet Flitwick eventually edged home with two wickets and a few overs spare.
The 3rd XI made it back-to-back victories thanks to a magnificent all-round performance against West Herts. Price dominated the batting with a superb 135, scoring the majority of Hertford's 278, while Ives contributed a valuable 45. With the ball, Duke claimed 3-31 while Ives completed an solid all-round contribution with figures of 2-14 as Hertford dismissed West Herts for 148.
The 4th XI completed an excellent day for the Club with a convincing 84-run victory over St Albans. Batting first, Hertford posted 247 thanks largely to a strong opening stand between Page (50) and Wolton, who struck a fine 81. Prasad then accelerated the innings with a quickfire 57 from just 47 balls. The total proved well beyond St Albans, with Coleman leading the bowling attack with 3-22 and Buse providing strong support with 3-31.
