4 runs short of 4 from 4. Recapping on Saturday's men's league fixtures.

The 1s produced an excellent all-round performance to secure a convincing 49-run victory over league-contenders, West Herts. Batting first, Hertford posted 255-8 from their 60 overs. Cavener got the innings moving with 45 before Eustance and Pavey took control of the middle and latter stages. Eustance struck 55 while Pavey provided acceleration with an excellent 54 from just 47 balls, including 3 sixes. In reply, West Herts made a solid start but Hertford's bowlers gradually took control. Eustance produced a superb spell of 6-59 from 19.1 overs while Braans claimed 4-80.

A dominant performance from the 2s saw them secure a comprehensive 152-run victory over Bishop's Stortford. Batting first, Hertford posted an imposing 300-7 from their 50 overs. Mercer led the way with 67 while Joyce and F.Ruskin both contributed 52. Underdown added a brisk 30 from 28 balls before T.Orchard provided further momentum with 31 from 30. With 300 on the board, Hertford's bowlers produced a superb display. T.Orchard was the pick of the attack, taking 4-36, while Underdown was outstanding with 3-6 from just 4 overs. Stortford were eventually dismissed for just 148.

The 3s produced a clinical performance to secure a stunning 10-wicket victory over Langleybury. Put into bat, Langleybury struggled against a relentless Hertford bowling attack and were bowled out for just 47. Duke led the charge with a superb 6-24 from 10 overs, while Beardsley took 3-18. The chase was a formality, with Read unbeaten on 19 and Carter unbeaten on 16 as Hertford reached 50-0 in just 8.4 overs.

The 4s came agonisingly close to completing a successful chase against Wheathampstead, eventually falling 4 runs short. Wheathampstead were bowled out for 167 with Coleman particularly impressive, conceding just 8 runs from 8 overs while taking a wicket. Amos claimed 2-23 while Wolton took 2-22. Chasing 168 for victory, Hertford battled hard. Wolton made 28, while Riddle anchored the middle order with a valuable 30. Amos added a quickfire 26 to keep the chase alive but Hertford ultimately fell agonisingly just 4 runs short.
