Recapping on a mixed weekend for our men's sides.

Hertford’s 1st XI were well-beaten by Harpenden despite a determined batting effort that produced 162 all out. After early wickets, Pavey anchored the innings nicely with 54, while Eustance added 40 to rebuild the total.

In reply, Harpenden reached the target comfortably with 7 wickets in hand. Tashkoff led the chase with an unbeaten 82 from 49 balls, while Latham had earlier laid the foundation with 52. The pick of Hertford’s bowlers was D.Orchard with 1-33 from 7.

Hertford 2nd XI produced a strong all-round performance to secure a five-wicket victory away to Datchworth. The hosts were dismissed for 113 in 42.5 overs, with Murphy picking up 4-25 from 10; and captain T.Orchard 3-20. In reply, Hertford reached their target in 34.2 overs. Mercer set the chase up with 43 while T.Orchard completed an solid all-round display with an unbeaten 22 to guide the side home.

Hertford 3rd XI were narrowly beaten by Hitchin after posting a competitive 172 all out. The innings was built around several useful contributions, with S.Clarke providing a positive start with 35 and Richard Eaton adding 32 late in the innings.

Hitchin reached 173/7 in 43 overs, edging home in a closely fought chase. C.Ives was Hertford’s standout bowler, taking 2 wickets and helping keep the pressure on the visitors. Hertford fought hard throughout, with wickets shared across the attack.

Hertford 4th XI produced an excellent all-round display to defeat Bengeo by 39 runs after posting an imposing 254/7 from their 40 overs. Page was the star of the innings, scoring a superb 91 from just 86 balls, including 17 fours and a six. He was well supported by Prasad, whose quickfire 50 from 37 balls gave Hertford momentum in the latter stages of the innings.

Bengeo were bowled out for 215, with Hertford’s bowlers sharing the wickets effectively. Amos was the standout performer with 3-27 while Jackson also claimed 3 wickets as Hertford wrapped up a convincing victory.
