Hertford won the toss and elected to bat first against Radlett. Facing a disciplined bowling attack, runs proved hard to come by and partnerships were difficult to establish, limiting opportunities to accelerate the scoring rate. Despite the challenge, contributions came throughout the batting line-up as Hertford posted a competitive total of 256.

With the ball, Hertford made a positive start through opening bowlers Emma and Holly, who combined well to apply pressure and keep Radlett’s scoring in check. However, two middle-order batters helped shift the momentum in Radlett’s favour, building substantial partnerships and putting their side in a strong position.

Hertford continued to compete hard throughout the innings. Holly and Kanchana were particularly impressive in the latter stages, finishing with outstanding economy rates of 2.75 and 2.35 respectively. They were well supported by an energetic fielding display, with Jodi, Samia and Holly covering the boundary effectively, while Emma, Heidi and Lauren maintained pressure in the ring. Behind the stumps, Alice delivered an excellent performance.

Despite Hertford’s efforts in the field, Radlett reached the 326 needed to secure victory. While the result was disappointing, the match provided plenty of encouraging individual performances and positives for Hertford to build on in the weeks ahead. Well done, all.
