Their opening batting pair got off to a flying start, racking up numerous boundaries.
Hertford, however, soon settled into their rhythm, working hard to slow the run rate. There was some outstanding fielding in the deep from both Heidi and Cornelia, while Fiona impressed on her debut with tight fielding and accurate bowling.
Wickets from Holly, Emily, and Lauren, along with a sharp run-out from Alice following tidy fielding, helped restrict Kings Langley to 122.
In reply, Kate and Emily led the batting brilliantly, finding the boundary several times. Our batting pairs continued to build the run rate, but despite their best efforts, the target proved just out of reach as the women finished on 91 for 8.
There’s plenty of positives to take into the next match against Harpenden. A huge thank you to Emma for her fantastic leadership on the pitch, and to Fearnley for umpiring.
As always, thanks to Kyle and Kanchana for their invaluable guidance. The team are thoroughly looking forward to the rest of the season!
