In Tuesday's game, Hertford play their annual fixture against the Weekenders in a match which was very much short and sweet. In a rain-affected match, Hertford could only muster 73 (Walton 20); a total which was swiftly chased down by their opponents for the loss of just 2 wickets (Donaghy 1-6).
On Wednesday, Hertford faced Nomads CC in another defeat. Hertford fielded first and were set 254 to win by the Nomads who put on a solid batting display. Jack Buse was the pick of the bowlers with 1-26 from 7 overs. The run-chase never got going and, despite a lower order 26, again by Buse, Hertford fell 110 runs short of their target.
Today, Hertford proudly welcomed the MCC in our bi-annual fixture which is always a highlight of the cricketing summer. Sadly, the weather didn't show up as it has done so frequently this summer, and the game was washed out with the MCC handsomely positioned on 152/2 from 26 overs.
Tomorrow is another highlight of the year; the HCC vs President's XI fixture, starting at 11.30am under (what looks like) sunnier skies! Feel free to come on down during the day, or in the evening, to enjoy what is always a brilliant day.
