Hertford 4s lose to Langleybury 3s

Hertford won the toss and elected to bat at Langleybury’s home ground. Angus Kildare and Dave Spring got the team off to a solid start, batting responsibly with the ball keeping low and some lateral movement. Angus was bowled by Roe for 22 with the partnership at 31. Dave followed soon after, LBW to Crawley. Matt Bartlam and Nigel Hillery advanced the score to 60/4. Crawley went on to take a remarkable 6/12. Other notable performances were Roe 2/19 off 15 overs and Ibhardwarj 2/2.

The Hertford attack started well with Mawn and Ball (17) both caught behind with outstanding catches from Angus Kildare off the bowling off Dellon Reddy and Dave Benham respectively. When Finlay Morgan bowled King for 17 and Jonny Underdown got Vernon LBW for 17 and Beesley caught Orchard, Langleybury were 64/5. A boundary then brought an early finish to the game.

With only 5 points from this game we now drop down to 5th place in the league. A better performance will be required against League leaders Pirton next week.
