Sad news about former HCC cricketer - Michael Hogue.

We are sorry to learn that former player Michael Hogue, devoted schoolmaster at Ashdown House died on Sunday, May 6th, aged 52, whilst marking out cricket pitches.

Mike, born in Christchurch, New Zealand, made considerable impact on the Club when he joined in 1990 whilst at Haileybury College.

In his first season, opening the bowling, he topped the 1st XI averages with 49 wickets at an average of 15.15, 37 of them in the League at 12.16. He played for a further three seasons, taking 40 wickets in 1992, before moving away to a teaching job.

As you would expect with a Kiwi, Mike was also played rugby at full back for the 1st XV at Hertford Rugby Club.
