Here is an opportunity to give money to Hertford CC, help other local good causes and give yourself a chance of winning up to £25,000!

Dear Member,

Here is an opportunity to give money to Hertford CC, help other local good causes and give yourself a chance of winning up to £25,000!

East Herts Council have just launched a local lottery, with 60% of receipts being distributed back to local ‘good causes’, 20% for prize money and 20% for admin and management.

In simple terms, here's how it works is:

1. Choose how much you want commit and go online to buy tickets - https://www.easthertslottery.co.uk/support/hertford-cricket-club

2. Select the good cause you want to support and buy tickets via their area of the website. 50% of your ticket goes directly to your selected good cause, and 10% into a pot to be distributed to other good causes.

The lottery is drawn monthly and you are not tied into any regular payments, you can join and leave at any time.

While the club does not want to encourage anybody to start gambling or to gamble outside of what they can afford; if you do enjoy the occasional ‘flutter’ this is a way of ensuring your money in part goes to a local ‘good cause’ and with better odds than the National and Health lotteries (although clearly not such large prizes).

Two last comments:

1. We do need to sell at least 50 tickets linked to HCC to remain registered as a local good cause. So if you are going to look, please do it soon. The first draw is the 23rd March.

2. Please don’t re-route any current regular donations you make to the club VP donations etc. via the lottery. These donations are critical to us already and it is important that we continue to get 100% of them, not 50%!

You will, as the year goes on, see a number of efforts to refresh and re-energise some of the club’s fundraising, as we seek to close the gap between our steady state income and expenditure. I promise these will not all be targeted at just trying to wring more money out of existing members and supporters.

Please contact me (email below) or David Williams if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Best wishes,

Mick Ray (michael.ray1@btinternet.com)
