‘All Stars’ cricket & Kwik Cricket at HCC

By Will Ray

This year the club will again be running 2 Sunday morning junior coaching programmes which are aimed at children between 5-10.

The two programmes ‘All Stars’ cricket and Kwik Cricket will run on the outfield of the main ground at Balls Park, Mangrove Road, Hertford SG13 8AJ. Please take time to review the details of the two programmes to understand which one is right for your son or daughter.

All Stars Cricket – Aimed at children aged 5-8. Starting May 12th running every Sunday until 30th June , 10am – 11am

You need to register in advance and find more information about All Stars cricket at www.allstarscricket.co.uk. The cost is £50 for all sessions and within this cost your child will receive personalised kit: First timers will receive a bat, ball, t-shirt, rucksack and cap. Returners will also receive new kit to progress their development.

All Stars cricket is suitable for all children new to cricket. Basic skills will be taught including: Batting - hitting a moving ball, Throwing - underarm and overarm, Catching, Bowling – Overarm, Running - lots of movement, Teamwork- fun games, Communication- basics of cricket and the Spirit of cricket - how to respect others.

Kwik Cricket – Aimed at children aged 7-10. Starting 12th May running every Sunday until 21st July. 10am – 12noon

£4 per child, per session, and the children just turn up, pay and play.

Kwik Cricket teaches the basic cricket skills of batting, bowling and fielding so that the children can progress quickly to playing in well-organised Kwik Cricket games. The younger children may not have played cricket before while the older ones are coming along to practice and improve the skills they have already learned in previous years. The children move quickly from one exercise to another so that they cover all of the cricket skill areas in a two hour session. The children will be working hard but we also throw in some fun games as part of each session.

For both programmes, parents can stay to watch, or leave and return later, as they please. Refreshments are available for the parents who stay to watch: tea, coffee, bacon rolls etc.

Please pass this information on to friends and neighbours who would like their children to play junior cricket at Hertford C.C.
